In another blow to the Biden administration, a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll with a sample that favors Democrats finds Trump leading Biden by three points in a head-to-head matchup.
When asked if the presidential election were held today and the candidates were Trump and Biden who they would support, 42% of respondents say they would support Trump, while 39% say they would support Biden and 20% say they are unsure.
The poll over-samples Democrats by seven points and consists of a sample size of 38% Democrat respondents, 31% Republicans and 31% Independents, yet still finds Trump coming out ahead.
The data also shows Trump leading Biden by two points among registered voters (44% to 42%), eleven points among Hispanics (39% to 28%) and nineteen points among Independents (47% to 28%). Even in a poll that favors Democrats by 7 points, Biden cannot secure support from even a third of Hispanics or Independents.
These findings follow a Rasmussen poll released last week that found Biden’s approval rating hovering at a net negative of -22 points, with 60% of Americans disapproving of Biden while a scarce 38% approve.
Even more concerning is the intensity with which Americans strongly disapprove of Biden compared to the share who strongly approve.
The poll found half of Americans (50%) strongly disapprove of Biden, while just 17% strongly approve, giving Biden a negative intensity rating of -33 points.
As Market Research Foundation Chairmen Bill Wilson, put it, “the intensity divergence here is startling. I would contend these numbers show that the regime has lost all credibility and legitimacy.”

Out-of-control inflation, the Russia-Ukraine situation and border security are all issues pushing Biden’s approval ratings down. While Biden has been losing support, Trump has slowly been gaining it, particularly among Hispanics, Independents, and young people.
