Biden’s Approval Rating Has Taken a Beating with Hispanics and Young People and It is Far from Over

Leftists are finally waking up to the reality that President Biden’s dwindling approval ratings with Hispanics and young voters will likely result in lower support for Democrats and jeopardize their prospects in the midterms.

A recent opinion piece in The New Republic warned that young voters are “utterly disillusioned” with Biden and this disillusionment is “dampening enthusiasm among young voters…whom Democrats desperately need in November.”

Polling also shows Democrats are hemorrhaging support from Hispanics as economic concerns top their list of priorities, and Hispanic support for Democratic House and Senate candidates is down from the 2018 midterms.

A recent Monmouth University poll shows Biden’s approval rating with 18- to 34-year-olds is underwater by a jaw-dropping 35 points. In that poll, just 28% of young voters said they approve of Biden’s job as President, down 31 points from when he took office.

A New York Times/Siena College poll found the numbers are even worse for Biden: 94% of 18- to 29-year-olds say they want a different candidate to run in 2024.

Ninety-four percent of 18- to 29-year-olds say they want a different candidate to run in 2024.

Biden’s numbers with Hispanics are arguably worse than those with young people. A recent Quinnipiac poll found just 19% of Hispanics approve of the job Biden is doing as President, and a full 70% disapprove.

YouGov polling shows Hispanics disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy 50% to 39% and his handling of foreign policy 47% to 30%. Hispanics also disapprove of Biden’s handling of immigration 45% to 32% and his handling of the “monkey pox” outbreak 43% to 29%.

Hispanics also say by a greater than two-to-one margin Biden should not run for office in 2024.

While these numbers may seem harsh, it is unsurprising Hispanics and young voters are turning away from Biden and the radical left as they watch economic and social mayhem unfold.

Market Research Foundation recently noted the left-wing theory that increased Hispanic immigration would be the end of the GOP is being retracted, and the liberal political scientist who proposed it is now scolding Democrats for failing with Hispanics and the middle class.

We are now seeing a similar scene play out with young people, voters whom the left has been constantly assuring themselves are solid big-government globalists.

Market Research Foundation has been tracking the views of Generation Z for over five years, and our research shows while “Zoomers” don’t necessarily view themselves as Republicans, most agree with an America First philosophy and oppose globalist policies. Our research shows:

  • Seventy-three percent of Generation Zers support an “America First” philosophy, where the primary goal of any law or policy must be to focus on the needs of Americans, even if they are not in line with the interests of foreign nations and allies.
  • Sixty-eight percent of Generation Z Republicans, an equal share of Generation Z Democrats (68%) and 71% of Generation Z Independents think the U.S. should stay out of international conflicts and only become involved when we are forced to.
  • Fifty-eight percent of Generation Zers say it doesn’t matter if illegal immigrants cause problems; if they came here illegally, they need to leave or go through the proper procedures to stay. This stance is supported by 86% of Generation Z Republicans, 61% of Generation Z Independents, and 42% of Generation Z Democrats.

The Biden administration’s disastrous handling of the economy, foreign policy and immigration are driving Hispanic and young voters away from the Democratic party. This offers limited-government America First candidates a unique opportunity to build inroads with swing groups Democrats cannot afford to lose.
